Sönnichsen, Jan 26, 2022 has showed that the top brand that has sold highest volume of petrol per stationin the United Kigndom is belonging to supermarket chain Sainsbury’s. The figures clearly show that supermarket forecourts sold the highest volumes of fuel per site in the UK, with Tesco, Morrison’s and Asda following Sainbury’s.
About Tesco, is now the country’s market leader, in 2021, of motor fuel sold in petrol stations. Despite selling on average less fuel per site than other supermarkets. BP had the second largest market share of motor fuel. This is explained by the British multinational oil and gas company owning one of the greatest number of petrol station sites in the nation.
Other important fact is that supermarket fuel prices are cheapest.
Supermarket fuel prices are cheaper than the UK average and can often lead to supermarket “price wars”. It shows the popularity of supermarket forecourts.
